Seeking an experienced advanced practice provider to deliver comprehensive care in a dynamic Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) environment. Key Qualifications
- Current or eligibility for Tennessee Nurse Practitioner license (consideration may be given if licensure can be obtained within three months per state guidelines)
- Minimum 2 years of relevant NICU Nurse Practitioner or Physician Assistant experience required
- Master’s degree in nursing or related field
- Previous background in acute or critical neonatal care
- Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and communication skills
Primary Responsibilities
- Obtain and document detailed health histories and perform comprehensive, system-focused, or symptom-specific physical exams for neonates
- Deliver advanced neonatal care for critically ill and complex NICU patients, making evidence-based clinical decisions from admission through discharge
- Order, perform, and interpret diagnostic procedures and assessments
- Develop differential diagnoses, treating both acute and chronic neonatal conditions
- Prescribe and implement therapeutic interventions, including pharmacologic, non-pharmacologic, and surgical treatments
- Provide skills in delivery room and neonatal transport services, plus facilitate referrals and interdepartmental consultations
- Support patient transitions within and between healthcare settings, including admissions, transfers, and discharges
